VCOMM teams up with Xenolitica to offer VoIP provisioning platform

VoIP value added distributor VCOMM has enlisted the services of software developers Xenolitica to produce a VoIP provisioning platform, which the two companies say will provide resellers and service providers with an accurate way to improve the efficiency of delivering and installing IP devices.

Scott Dobson, managing director at VCOMM, says, “With this new platform, setting up IP devices will not rely so heavily on manual provisioning and customers can be up and running with a VoIP communications service in a matter of minutes rather than hours.”

When initially ordered, each device will be assigned a specific destination and port. The appliance will automatically make contact with the platform when installed at the end users’ location, stating exactly which device it is and where it has been installed.

Initially, the new platform will support the Polycom range of SoundPoint handsets but Xenolitica and VCOMM expect to provide the service for all major IP devices such as handsets, routers, gateways, ViBE and even IP-PBXs moving forward.

Says Rob Conway, head of business development at Xenolitica, “VCOMM felt that resellers were experiencing extra cost of sale issues during the deployment phase, so we looked at the issues surrounding provisioning products to see where we could improve the process. One of the main aims for our new platform is to make IP device provisioning more ‘plug-n-play’ rather than ‘slog-n-pay’.”
